Anne Marie Huey

I was raised on a small cattle property near Charters Towers in north Queensland. My early working life included roles in mining, tourism and hospitality, however I always retained my passion for the northern beef industry.

After graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Natural Resource Management, I spent 10 years working in beef research and extension across Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. In 2014 I became a full-time grazier and today, with my partner Mike, own and manage Dampier Downs Station in the west Kimberley. In my view, my role as a Climate Mate is to work with land managers and associated industry professionals to better understand the hugely variable climate in which we operate. This way, we have more tools in our toolbox to make better informed herd, land and business management decisions.
