Heidi Millership

I am based at Mount Leonard Station, in far SW QLD, managing the property alongside my husband and our two children. In my role as the station coordinator and station pilot, I rely heavily on climatic conditions to plan our work calendar.
After graduating from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga with a Bachelor of Agriculture specialising in animal production, I headed north to Darwin where I have worked in roles in the live export trade, stock and station agency and livestock biosecurity roles. After 6 years managing a NT cattle station, we were given the opportunity to move down to the channel country to manage Mount Leonard, an organic operation running Santa Gertrudis cattle which has been a fantastic change. Although new to the climate mate role, I look forward to developing relationships with local pastoralists who, like me, use climate information and forecasts to make the best decisions for our operations.
